The U.S. Information Resource Center (IRC), is located on the United Nations Drive in Mamba Point and is open to special contacts such as leaders of civil society, non-governmental organizations, government officials, journalists, business professionals, academia, and other adults who may shape public opinion and develop national policy. The IRC serves as a reference library to provide comprehensive and authoritative information on the United States Government, domestic and foreign policy and programs, institutions, and civil society.

The Information Resource Center has three primary functions:
To operate a research and reference service for the Embassy and its target audience;
To create and maintain the U.S. Embassy - Monrovia web site;
To operate an outreach service for our target audience.

The mission of the Information Resource Center(IRC) is to advance United States Government policy goals by identifying and selectively disseminating information to Liberian contacts who influence policy and public opinion on issues central to U.S. interests, and is designed to serve Embassy information needs in support of Mission and U.S. Public Diplomacy objectives.

At the Information Resource Center (IRC), we are fully equipped with both print and electronic resources on United States policies; economic, social and security issues; media issues; human rights; the environment; good government; rule of the law; and civic education, among others.

What the Information Resource Center Does Not Do
The U.S. Information Resource Center (IRC) does not in any way provide or facilitate: visa applications; financial support in any form; assistance in job placements in the United States or Liberia; student admissions to high schools or universities in the United States [only information and advising about potential educational opportunities is provided].
Our Information Resource Center (IRC) is established to address United States-based information needs for a targeted audience. It is not a public or circulating library, and there is no official membership. The IRC and other Embassy staff may determine whether a request for service is in the best interest of the United States Government.
