The American Library aims to:

· Conduct research and provide reference services for the public;

· Disseminate information on educational opportunities in the United States;
· Provide up to date information for professionals on developments in their field; and
· Provide self improvement opportunities through Speaker Series, American Movie Evenings, Children’s Story Hours, and other cultural activities.

The American Library is the reincarnation of the much loved USIS Library. Its mission is to provide through its extensive collection and programs a place for Liberians to come to learn. Through EBSCO Host, Internet resources and an extensive book and magazine collection, the Library provides comprehensive and authoritative information on the U.S. Government and provides Liberian professionals, such as policy makers, teachers, lawyers, nurses, engineers, etc., with access to up to date information for their particular field to enable them in turn to better serve their fellow Liberians. The staff at the American library welcomes anyone who is in search of educational resources.
