Chargé D'Affaires a.i. Karl Albrecht
Karl Albrecht is a member of the Senior Foreign Service. He began his assignment as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia in August 2010. Prior to that, he served at the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt, Germany. Other previous overseas assignments include Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Maseru, Lesotho, plus positions at the Consulate General in Chiang Mai, Thailand, U.S. Embassy – Bern, Switzerland, and U.S. Embassy – Kingston, Jamaica. Mr. Albrecht has also held several management and policy positions at the Department of State, Washington, D.C., including multiple assignments in the Bureau of African Affairs. He is a 2007 graduate of the National War College with a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies. Mr. Albrecht also has a B.A. in History from Lawrence University and a law degree from Georgetown University.
